Plugin name : WP 404 Images Fix
Release date : 2009-09-11
Allows you to load a default alternative image where you are having image missing on your post. That is, if you embed an image in post, and the images is deleted or moved from the server, then you can load an alternative image to there by default.
You can also add class to the img tag or just hide the image from front end users. You don’t have to open each the post and remove code from it.
I’m using this plug-in for this blog itself
1 . Unzip into your /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
2 . Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
3 . Go to 404 Image Fix menu in admin panel
4 . Choose the option you want to do with missing image

Hello,
I've been having a problem with an image/video that is apparently broken on my site although I am unable to find it.
Google analytics says it's the top searched for page on my site so obviously 404 error after error will not help my cause for ranking.
I have been advised to put your plugin on my site to prevent further problems.
Thanking you in advance,
myke
I'm using your plugin on my blog. It was very easy to setup and works like a charm. Thank you very much!
Hey after installing your plugin and publishing a new post all images in a number of my latest posts just dissapeared, although in post editor they exist and html is fine... But no matter if i F5 or reset browser's cache WP still generates pages without those imgs. it's sad. maybe it's not plugin's fault i don't know. After deactivating and deleting it nothing changed.
maybe there is some code this plugin permanently changed. How do I recover that? Thanks.
Hi,
Thanks for the report.
But Im sure this plugin doesnt change any code. It just adds some javascript on runtime to load a default image.

Hi ... this is a gr8 plugin.
Btw this works only in the Posts pages. Any way to configure it to work throughout the site. If you take a look at my home page ... you will understand. I am using the 1st image in the post to show as thumbnails...
Works great, thank you
